Profile Chief Reservoir Engineer (P512)

As Chief Reservoir Engineer you will lead the Reservoir Engineering & Field Development team within PanTerra’s Subsurface Evaluation department. The department also has Reservoir Geology and Geoscience & Petrophysics teams, and executes Oil & Gas and Geothermal projects for clients worldwide. The RE team executes a wide range of projects, from basic reservoir engineering to advanced simulation of EOR and reservoir souring, well test analysis, FDP studies, Reserves Audits, etc.

Your main goal is to build, lead and motivate the Reservoir Engineering team. You are responsible for expanding the scope of services, improve staff skills, and assure quality and timely delivery of projects within agreed budget. As part of the departments leadership team you will also manage integrated projects and play a key role in developing new business through marketing and client interaction. You are also expected to perform project work yourself, e.g. Reserve Audits.

You will be reporting to the Manager Subsurface Evaluation.


- Coordinating, planning and managing the work of the RE team including preparation of project proposals and budget estimates and monitoring of plans versus progress.
- Supervision, training and coaching of engineers and QC of their work.
- Maintain and expand the team’s capabilities
- Participate in project/contract liaison between clients and PanTerra
- Support development of PanTerra’s business portfolio through active participation in marketing efforts and writing tender proposals (bids).
- Play an active role in assuring the quality of work in the whole Subsurface Evaluation department (coaching of Geoscientists, support integration between all disciplines, etc).


- relevant education on at least MSc level
- managerial courses (technical and people)

- at least 20 years relevant experience in Reservoir Engineering and in technical as well as commercial and leadership roles.
- broad RE experience: operational, integrated studies, dynamic simulation, EOR, reserves assessment, development concept selection and FDP studies.
- worked in an operator environment.

- An extensive network in the E&P business is desirable
- Candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English. Dutch language skills are an advantage.
