Core Analysis Supervisor (P539)

PanTerra has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor to lead the Core Analysis team in our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.

PanTerra has been providing laboratory services for more than 30 years for the international energy industry, establishing a reputation for quality and reliability. Our laboratories provide conventional and special core analysis, production chemistry, PVT and EOR services for clients worldwide, thereby providing integrated services relevant to both the E&P and Renewables Industry. Each laboratory has a wide range of in-house state-of-the-art equipment and a range of expertise from veteran geoscientists to more junior staff that produce analysis of reservoir cores, adding value to the clients’ geological models.

Our core analysis team undertakes a range of services providing accurate estimation of hydrocarbon reserves, as well as prediction of well productivity. They work closely with the reservoir geology group throughout each study, taking input from sedimentologists and petrographers. This approach enables them to maximize the value of all core derived data and offers integrated solutions in reservoir characterization, formation damage and reservoir performance. The team consists of very senior level core analysts, some mid-stream and some junior core analysts.

PanTerra is conveniently located near the historic university town of Leiden, one of the beautiful cities in the Netherlands. Leiden boasts a large number of museums and a thriving cultural climate. With its close proximity to Amsterdam, it is also within easy reach of Schiphol, the main airport in the Netherlands.

• Manage core analysis team; ensuring appropriate resources are available to undertake and deliver the accurate completion of projects in a timely and professional manner.
• Quality control, data interpretation and reporting.
• Develop good working relationships with key client contacts. Understand client’s core analysis requirements, work flows, challenges and constraints.
• Develop resource plans for current and future growth that can leverage junior, mid-tier and senior level technical staff. Identify skills gaps and look at ways to develop required skills that are aligned with resource plans.
• Ensure that all proper safety precautions and standard procedures are understood by the team and adhered to.
• Day-to-day planning of staff activities, tracking of project progress and change of scope of work, status report to clients, keep project administration updated and invoicing to clients.
• Supervise the maintenance and calibration of lab equipment ensuring it is effective at all times.
• Mentor and support junior staff – strive to enhance their technical capabilities.
• Appraise and evaluate staff performance.

The successful candidate will have:

• Education to degree level, preferably in engineering or geology.
• A minimum of 5 years of core analysis experience in the oil and gas industry - essential.
• A confident and assertive individual with the ability to provide effective leadership, motivate staff and foster a collaborative team spirit in a dynamic laboratory environment - essential.
• Positive and enthusiastic personality with strong planning and organization skills - essential.
• Strong client liaison skills – the ability to engage and foster trust.
• Knowledge of generic laboratory health and safety regulations – the ability to ensure that these are clearly relayed, understood and adhered to.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral in English.
• Strong ability to deal with staff and clients in a positive and successful manner.
• A strong focus on service delivery – strives to achieve high levels of client satisfaction on all projects.
• Highly flexible with a proactive approach to tasks.
