Geoscience Supervisor (P565)

Join PanTerra’s multidisciplinary geoscience and engineering team as our Geoscience Supervisor. Our Geoscience team is a diverse group of professionals, ranging from recent graduates to seasoned experts. We handle projects for global oil and gas clients, covering the full hydrocarbon resource life cycle from exploration to field development planning and field management. Additionally, we have been one of the market leaders in geothermal energy in the Netherlands for over a decade and have active involvement in the renewable energy sector, particularly in CCS and underground storage projects.

As the Geoscience Supervisor, your primary objective is to lead, manage, and inspire the Geoscience team. You will be responsible for the smooth operation (project planning) and financial success of the department.

This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage the team and client relationships. By balancing operational management, employee motivation, financial target realization, and quality assurance, you will ensure the Geoscience department consistently delivers high-quality services and meets business objectives. You will report to the manager Subsurface and Engineering and will have to work closely together with the Geothermal Lead, as such you will actively participate in the resource planning across the teams within SSE together with the other supervisors.

Operational Management:

• Develop and manage project plans, ensuring adherence to time and budget constraints.
• Oversee technical project planning and monitor progress against budgets and deadlines.
• Ensure quality control of geoscience deliverables.
• Active involvement in project acquisition including the preparation of quotes and tenders.
• Manage client relationships and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.

Employee Management:

• Lead and motivate the Geoscience team, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
• Conduct yearly performance appraisals.
• Actively Plan and support staff career development (including training plans etc).
• Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

• A minimum of 15 years in the industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong team-building skills and a passion for mentoring and coaching.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Organized, decisive, and proactive in problem-solving.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, reservoir geology, and preferably model building.
• Good knowledge of the geology of the Netherlands.
• Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
