We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Reservoir Engineer Study Lead.

The expert will manage and provide technical expertise in developing and managing carbonate oil and gas reservoirs. Responsibilities include functional management of Reservoir simulation engineers, with goal of sustaining and growing production, improving recovery, and engaging in business planning and reservoir performance reviews. The scope includes reviewing the current reservoir management and field development plans to create additional value from existing oil and gas reservoirs by employing state-of-the-art technologies and industry best practices.

This position involves being seconded to our esteemed client’s offices in the UAE, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in reservoir management and field development, with a strong focus on carbonate oil and gas reservoirs.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of reservoir simulation tools and techniques.
    • Proficiency in developing and optimizing field development plans and reservoir management strategies.
    • Experience with enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods and advanced reservoir characterization.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, including reservoir simulation engineers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess current reservoir performance, identify areas for optimization, and implement value-driven solutions.
  • Technology Integration: Familiarity with state-of-the-art technologies and best practices in reservoir management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong aptitude for evaluating reservoir performance data and generating actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present complex reservoir strategies and results to stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business planning, production sustainability, and long-term recovery improvement strategies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in reservoir management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in performance reviews and integration of multi-disciplinary reservoir management approaches.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with other departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Start Date

This is a project contract with a duration of 18 – 24 months.
