Sedimentologist/Petrographer (P553)

For our reservoir geology team, we are looking for a skilled sedimentologist/petrographer with around 5 to 10 years of experience in various siliciclastic reservoir studies. Our diverse team comprises a mix of professionals from recent graduates to seasoned experts with great team dynamics.

• Undertake single- and multi-well sedimentological and/or structural core studies;
• Undertake petrographic analysis;
• Report the results in a concise manner in accordance with PanTerra’s quality standard;
• Participate and present the results in technical meetings with clients and 3rd parties;
• Project management;
• Give training to more junior colleagues;
• QC reports of other staff members.

We are looking for candidates with the following background:

• MSc in geology;
• At least 5 years hands on experience in sedimentology and petrography, preferably in a service company;
• Siliciclastic experience;
• Knowledge of the Dutch subsurface is a pre;
• Strong proficiency in technical writing/reporting;
• Good communication skills, comfortable communicating with and presenting results to colleagues and clients;
• Excellent English language skills; Dutch language skills are an advantage;
• Affinity with project management.

Preference is given to applicants who are already legally permitted to work in the Netherlands.

We offer a one year contract with the intention to extend to a permanent contract afterwards.
