Senior Carbonate Sedimentologist/Petrographer (P552)

For our reservoir geology team, we are looking for a senior sedimentologist/petrographer with around 5 to 10 years of experience in carbonate studies. The team at the moment consists of seven geologists, with varying levels of experience and various nationalities.

• Undertake sedimentological and/or structural core studies;
• Undertake petrographic analysis including thin section analysis, XRD and Scanning Electron Microscopy;
• Report the results in a concise manner in accordance with PanTerra’s quality standard;
• Participate and present the results in technical meetings with clients and 3rd parties;
• Project management;
• Give training to more junior colleagues;
• QC reports of other staff members.

We are looking for candidates with the following background:

• MSc in geology;
• At least 5 years hands on experience in carbonate sedimentology and petrography, preferably in a service company;
• Strong proficiency in technical writing/reporting;
• Good communication skills, comfortable communicating with and presenting results to colleagues and clients;
• Affinity with project management.

Immediate

We offer a one year contract with the intention to extend to a permanent contract afterwards.
